he pain of grief is some of the worst sufferings that a human being can experience. Whether you’ve lost a family member, a friend, a relationship, a pet, or some kind of physical functioning, adapting to loss is an awful experience that can leave you feeling overwhelmed and hopeless.
There are many different symptoms of grief, and experiencing them together can be disorienting. The most common symptoms are sadness, anger, guilt, anxiety, loneliness, fatigue, helplessness, shock, yearning, relief, numbness, disbelief, confusion, preoccupation, hallucinations, sleep disturbances, appetite disturbances, and social withdrawal. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms in response to a loss, you are not “crazy”; you are actually totally normal.
